The month of February was all about planting the model garden, with as highlight the course of agroforestry expert pak Tony. In addition, we also had extra support from volunteer Saga, intern Onno, local farmers and acquaintances.

In January, after having been away for a month, Rudy is back in Lauwo to continue the implementation of the model garden with pak Amir and Yusri.  In the month of December, our supervisor Yusri, together with pak Amir, kept track of all activities. Below he reports on the progress in the model garden!  This week Rudy, Saga and pak Amir work on the compost facilities as well as the water well. They also have a few inspiring meetings with young farmers from both Lauwo and Makassar!  This week in Rudy Reads, Rudy and Saga report on experimenting with compost and ground covering. They have also searched for new crops to introduce in the Kebun and they tell us more about the status of the compost facility and the water well!  This week, Rudy and Saga report on the project trip. While Fatima (chairman of La Galigo) has returned to the Netherlands after a productive time in Indonesia, an exciting and educational challenge within the farming community of Lauwo awaits Rudy and Saga.  This week in Rudy Reads, president of La Galigo Foundation, Fatima Spalburg, reports on a busy, but very productive first week in Indonesia.  |
